A telephone balance unit or telephone hybrid allows a PA system to be connected to a caller on a phone line.
The person on the phone will be heard through the PA speakers, with them hearing the sound from the microphones, and anything else that goes through the PA system, without feedback.
The unit will cancel out unwanted noise, facilitating a clear two-way conversation.
